About The Position

Earthscale is hiring a software engineer to build a geospatial intelligence platform that will help scientists deepen our understanding of the planet. Our mission and vision A new wave of planetary data is revolutionizing our understanding of Earth systems. This data will underpin many solutions to global challenges like climate change. Earthscale's mission is to help scientists and analysts produce insights from geospatial data. We enable them to make sense of vast volumes of satellite and sensor data to map and monitor the Earth. Our vision is a future where advanced geospatial AI drives solutions in sectors such as agriculture, insurance, energy production, nature-based solutions, and built infrastructure. About the role You'll join a small team building the first version of our platform. You'll tackle challenging software problems, ranging from large-scale data processing to crafting very shiny React components. We'll give you substantial freedom in feature design and implementation. Our primary languages are Python and TypeScript. The job is hybrid, based in the Bay Area. The founders live in SF, and we work in-person at least twice a week. Two of our founding engineers collaborate with us remotely from Austria.

Requirements

Startup experience.
Front-end skills in TypeScript/JavaScript, ideally React.
High Python comfort level.
An eye for design/UX.
Ability to learn quickly.
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where customer feedback and discovery drive our priorities.

Nice To Haves

Portfolio projects demonstrating an eye for design/UX.
Experience with long-term projects and deep domain knowledge.
Expertise in geospatial.
Enthusiasm for startups.
