About The Position

The Software Engineer 2 codes software applications based on business requirements. The Software Engineer 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action. The Software Engineer 2 standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software. Oversees testing and debugging and develops fixes. Researches complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issues. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures. Ingests data from internal and external sources utilizing cloud native platforms and software development best practices and patterns. Develops software tools that leverage artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big-data techniques to cleanse, organize, and transform data into insights and actions that enables Humana to better serve our members. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Less than 5 years of technical experience
• Experience with Databricks, Spark, and Scala
• Knowledge of SQL and relational database models
• Documenting processes related to database design, configuration, and performance.
• Experience designing, developing, and testing of software applications and/or infrastructure
• Experience with APIs to expose large datasets to applications and data analytics solutions

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Azure Cloud: Azure Data Factory (ADF), Pipelines, Azure Synapse Analytics (ASA), and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
• Experience with development, release and support of data processing pipelines
• Experience with test automation frameworks and tools
• Experience with Agile, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
• Experience with Terraform
