About The Position

Join Cantor Fitzgerald Technology Markets' Finance Development team as a Software Engineer on a high-ownership automation and applied AI group. You will partner with business, operations, and technology stakeholders to design, develop, and support production-grade automation that streamlines trading, compliance, legal, tax, treasury, finance, HR and other corporate processes. The role spans the full software-development lifecycle, from learning unfamiliar business workflows to delivering reliable, AI-enhanced solutions and maintaining them in production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–5 years of professional software-development experience with a solid grasp of the SDLC.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and a modern web framework such as Django.
  • Experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs.
  • Proficient SQL skills with experience in relational databases like SQL Server.
  • Working knowledge of a modern JavaScript framework (e.g., React) for UI development.
  • Experience with browser-automation/RPA tools and Unix shell scripting.
  • Hands-on experience integrating generative AI or LLM APIs into production applications.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and a self-directed, intellectually curious mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack automations using Python/Django, SQL Server, and React.
  • Create and consume REST APIs and integrate with internal systems and third-party platforms via APIs or controlled browser automation.
  • Apply generative AI and large language models to document processing, classification, and AI-assisted reporting, implementing validation and audit controls.
  • Own solutions end-to-end: design, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and production support.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and improve reliability, performance, and recoverability.
  • Develop automated tests, conduct code reviews, and enforce CI/CD best practices.
  • Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting for unattended automations.
  • Collaborate with compliance, legal, trading operations, tax, treasury, finance, and HR to validate business logic and communicate technical trade-offs.
  • Translate compliance and regulatory requirements into reliable, auditable technical solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging automation and AI technologies and evaluate their applicability.
