Amentum is hiring a Software Engineer to join its DevOps team in Hanover, Maryland. The team develops, deploys, and supports mission-focused cyber training solutions used across multiple locations. Working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, engineers contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, testing, deployment, infrastructure management, and operational support. They work with instructors, developers, system administrators, and other technical teams to deliver reliable, realistic training capabilities. The Software Engineer contributes to the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of applications and supporting infrastructure for cyber training environments. Work includes developing user interfaces, backend services, APIs, automation and data-processing solutions; maintaining pipelines, databases, scripts, and dataflows; and deploying applications in virtualized and containerized environments. The role also supports cyber training environments and simulations, performs testing and troubleshooting, evaluates technologies, documents systems and procedures, and recommends improvements to applications and development processes. The supported courses run from 0700 to 1800 Monday through Friday, and contract core hours are 1000 to 1400. The DevOps team offers flexibility in arrival and departure times, but team members may occasionally need to support testing and maintenance before or after course hours. A TS/SCI with Poly clearance is required. Education and experience requirements can be met through one of these combinations: a master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field and two years of relevant experience; a bachelor’s degree in one of those fields and five years of relevant experience; an associate degree (or 18 semester hours of military coursework or training in a computer-related field) and seven years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma/GED and nine years of relevant experience.
