Software Engineer (Java)
About The Position
Sonar is seeking a Software Engineer to join the CI Experience squad within the Code Orchestration department. The squad enables users to analyze projects in their own CI and aims to make analysis reliable, fast, configurable, and developer-friendly. The role involves working with product managers, UX designers, and engineers to improve the CI-based analysis experience, writing tested and production-ready code, participating in on-call operations for analysis infrastructure, and helping define team goals. The position follows an in-office collaboration model with anchor days on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Candidates are expected to be based in the posted location; relocation support may be available for the right person.
Requirements
- MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 0–3 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proficiency with Java.
- Solid engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and the ability to reason about correctness and performance.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with a variety of build systems and CI runners.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and engineers to build the best CI-based analysis experience.
- Contribute well-tested, production-ready code.
- Participate in on-call operation of analysis infrastructure, including feature deployments, production monitoring, incident response, and troubleshooting.
- Contribute to the definition of the team’s short- and long-term goals.
