Capitol Services is seeking a Software Engineer with a focus in Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to join their growing team in Austin, TX. This is a permanent, direct hire, full-time position. The role involves designing, developing, testing, performance tuning, enhancing, maintaining, and documenting internal and external software in compliance with project plans and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Reside in Austin, TX
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of software development experience overall as a Full-Stack Engineer
  • Experience with .NET and C#
  • 2+ years of experience building end-to-end AI products
  • Experience bridging traditional full-stack development with emerging AI technologies
  • Technical skills: Python, LLMs (e.g., Claude, GPT), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), MCP, Agentic AI systems, Generative AI, and AI Agent orchestration
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time
  • Able to work during regular business hours in the Austin location
  • Punctual and able to follow an assigned work schedule
  • Able to maintain client confidentiality at all times

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building scalable backend applications using C# and .NET
  • Experience developing APIs and designing data access layers
  • Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server

Responsibilities

  • Execute full lifecycle software development
  • Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code
  • Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility
  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
  • Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
  • Document and maintain software functionality
  • Document requirements and specifications
  • Tailor and deploy software tools, processes, and metrics
  • Serve as a subject matter expert
  • Ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards
