About The Position

The Software Engineer brings strong technical development expertise and software engineering skills to Forvia Electronics (FCE). In addition to the skills expected of a software developer, the Software Engineer is expected to contribute experience in designing, developing, and delivering enterprise-class engineering solutions. The main missions of the role are to develop, prove, and document embedded software products and solutions and support to design them. This role also involves reviewing and providing effort estimates on accomplishing team tasks, decomposing team tasks into specific work items, assessing risk and priority, and balancing tasks to ensure maximum team success. The Software Engineer will enable all team members for successful completion of tasks through clear and constant communication, peer review, brainstorming, and willingness to cover in times of absence or unforeseen interruptions. Occasionally, they will mentor software developers, engineers, and interns, and review code and unit tests of other team members. The role provides product definition and high-level design support for team software products, decomposes high-level business requirements into component business requirements, and fosters teamwork among engineering disciplines. Travel to customer engineering centers and minimal overseas travel for collaboration and training is expected. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering discipline (Master’s degree is preferred)
  • Consistent participation in on-going career development education, either through advanced degree programs or certification programs
  • +3 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in electronics/software.
  • +3 years’ experience programming with C or C++
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as Software Engineer
  • Decomposition of business requirements into functional specifications, design documentation, and use cases, creation of support documentation.
  • Experience with AI assisted development and code generation (Codex, Claude Code, etc)
  • Familiar with state-of-the-art techniques for the development of embedded systems
  • Familiarity with automotive safety and cybersecurity requirements (ISO 26262, ISO 21434, etc.)
  • Familiarity with the development and integration of In-Vehicle communication bus protocols (AUTOSAR, CAN, Ethernet, LVDS, etc.), software, and related tools (CANalyzer, CANoe, CANdela, etc)
  • Able to decompose business requirements into engineered solutions.
  • Able to add in appropriate non-functional requirements to guarantee proper maintainability, persistence, scalability, security, and performance.
  • Able to maintain architectural consistency with other software products and technical design patterns currently in use by the team.
  • Ability to design solutions to enterprise class persistence, scalability, performance, security and maintainability models
  • Understanding of embedded device programming
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and fast-paced environment building software products
  • Ability to propose and support inspect-and-adapt processes for improving team performance, reducing cost of ownership for products, or shortening time-to-value for priority Forvia- Faurecia Clarion Electronics initiatives
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally to work with global product, sales, and engineering teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
