HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to develop space combat power and multi-domain simulation software. This software will support force structure planning, Digital Test and Training – Synthetic Environment, Joint Combatant Command analysis and operations support, Space Force testing and training, and research and development of space systems. As a Software Engineer, you will be expected to maintain and manage workflow of junior engineers, in addition to leading projects under the Space Protection and Response Solution program.

Requirements

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Proficient in C++.
  • Completion of a technical coding challenge in C++.
  • Understands compiling, linking, and debugging of C++ applications.
  • Experience in constructive agent-based, event-driven modeling and simulation.
  • Basic space knowledge (e.g., coordinate systems, time, orbital propagation, etc.).
  • Passion for problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and agile development environment.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

  • Interacts with the team via Confluence, Discourse, GitLab, and Jira.
  • Performs code reviews and ensures work quality remains high.
  • Works with government leadership to keep the team on course.
  • Works with customers to capture requirements and feedback.
  • Updates status and presents progress to local leadership and customers.
  • Conducts multidisciplinary research to support team development and modeling objectives.
  • Contributes to broader team vision and direction discussions.
  • Contributes to simulation software architecture discussions.
  • Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs space simulation software.
