About The Position

Wyetech is seeking a Software Engineer (SWE) Level 3 to develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems supporting mission-critical environments. These systems may include processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems. The selected candidate will work individually and as part of a team, provide technical leadership across software-development efforts, recommend new technologies and processes, and ensure developed and modified software meets applicable design, performance, and quality requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a Software Engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity; OR Master’s degree in a related technical field and a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience; OR PhD in a related technical field and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience; OR Four (4) additional years of Software Engineering experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current Full Scope Polygraph (FS Poly) is required.
Possession of a qualifying cloud certification is required and will be verified as part of the interview or offer process.
United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with AWS cloud environments, including serverless architecture and cloud application deployment.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), specifically Terraform.
Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
Experience developing production software for Solaris or Linux operating systems.
Experience developing software using Java, C, or C++.
Experience developing RESTful services.
Experience supporting processing-intensive analytics and novel algorithm development.
Experience manipulating and processing extremely large data sets.
Experience developing or supporting real-time systems.
Experience with voice or video processing systems involving ingestion of multiple audio/video formats, playback to end users, storage, and retrieval.
Experience supporting environments involving average ingestion, storage, content search, and retrieval of 500 GB or more per day of multilingual text.
Experience with distributed peer-to-peer content storage and retrieval systems containing more than 500 nodes.
Experience with metadata indexing, metadata summarization, data mining, visualization, and analytics.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements.
Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.
Diagnose and resolve software problem reports and technical issues.
Apply software-development and software-design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
Provide input into system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and the use of COTS/GOTS solutions in place of new development.
Perform requirements analysis and synthesis from the system level to individual software components.
Recommend new technologies and processes for complex software projects.
Serve as the technical lead for multiple software-development teams.
Select appropriate software-development processes in coordination with the customer and Systems Engineering teams.
Ensure quality control of all developed and modified software.
Delegate programming and testing responsibilities across development teams and monitor team performance.
Provide technical direction and mentorship while ensuring software-development activities meet project requirements and delivery objectives.
Lead multiple software-development teams supporting complex mission requirements.
Provide technical guidance and direction to Software Engineers and development teams.
Coordinate software-development processes with customers, Systems Engineers, and other technical stakeholders.
Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, architectures, and development processes.
Ensure software solutions meet applicable performance, interface, resource, security, and operational requirements.
Monitor development and testing activities to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
