About The Position

GDIT is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team building scalable, maintainable, and high-performance applications. You will work closely with our development team to build reusable UI components, optimize UI performance, and ensure accessibility. This role supports Government activities at Chantilly, VA, requiring a Top Secret SCI clearance with Polygraph. You will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
  • Developing web and client/server applications using Java, TypeScript/ JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Working with Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPA
  • Upgrading legacy versions of Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPA to current versions
  • Utilizing modern frontend frameworks such as Vue, React, or Angular
  • Designing databases and writing SQL queries (Oracle experience preferred)
  • Using version control systems such as Git (GitHub, GitLab, etc.)
  • Building RESTful APIs and services
  • Contributing within an Agile development environment
  • Analyzing user interfaces, monitoring system performance, and supporting hardware and software tuning
  • Assessing workload, system usage, downtimes, and proposed system modifications or upgrades
  • Defining system requirements and program specifications for development teams
  • Collaborating closely with programmers to ensure accurate implementation of system specifications
  • Working with functional users to evaluate and propose alternative technical solutions
  • Researching emerging technologies to understand their potential impact on organizational systems
  • US Citizenship Required

Nice To Haves

  • Linux or Windows system administration and shell scripting
  • Cloud technologies such as AWS or similar platforms
  • Build and automation tools including Gradle, Maven, or Jenkins
  • Testing frameworks such as JUnit or Cypress
  • Experience using ServiceNow
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes
