Ignite Digital is seeking a motivated Software Engineer with hands-on Kubernetes experience to support a government customer in the Norfolk, VA area. This onsite role requires a technically strong engineer capable of contributing to modern software development efforts using Agile and DevSecOps methodologies. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced mission environment, applying programming concepts to design, build, deploy, and maintain containerized applications in support of critical government systems.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of professional experience involving research, design, and development of computer or network software, or specialized utility programs
  • Experience supporting database maintenance within an application environment
  • Strong experience applying software programming concepts in academic or professional settings
  • Demonstrated experience with modern development methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, or DevSecOps
  • One (1) year of direct, professional Kubernetes experience
  • DoD 8570 / DoD 8140 Compliance (Level II or Level III) certification
  • Must hold an active SECRET clearance at the time of application
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical discipline such as: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems
  • Applicants must possess Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer certification.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain mission software applications
  • Implement and support containerized software solutions using Kubernetes
  • Apply Agile and DevSecOps best practices to improve delivery speed, code quality, and system security
  • Troubleshoot software, networking, deployment, and container orchestration issues
  • Collaborate with government and contractor teams to design resilient, scalable software services
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and secure development workflows
  • Ensure all work aligns with DoD cybersecurity requirements and SECRET-level security protocols
