About The Position

GRVTY is seeking a Software Engineer with a TS/SCI + Poly clearance to join one of our top projects in Chantilly, VA. This role involves supporting a backend development team focused on middleware and backend services, contributing to a significant technology program within the Intel Community. GRVTY has a long-standing relationship with this customer, having supported various sub-projects since its founding in 2013, and prides itself on providing exceptional engineering talent and aligning work with individual career interests.

Requirements

Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance
Intermediate to Expert level experience in Solr or Elastic Search (minimum 3 years)
Possessing significant knowledge & experience in submitting Lucene queries
Possessing significant knowledge & experience on how Solr/Elastic shards work
Possessing significant experience tuning Solr/Elastic for performance and query optimization
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a big data environment using tools such as Hadoop, Pyspark, Spark, and Hbase (prefer at least two of the list)
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on, back-end Java development experience (not Javascript or Springboot) implementing code that undergoes code reviews, unit testing, integration testing and deployed to a production environment
College degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree

Nice To Haves

Demonstrated experience working with several AWS services.
Demonstrated experience with JIRA and GITHUB.

Responsibilities

Performing schema updates
Submitting Lucene queries
Tuning Solr/Elastic for performance and query optimization
Implementing back-end Java development code that undergoes code reviews, unit testing, integration testing and deployed to a production environment
