About The Position

Innova Solutions has a client that is immediately hiring for a Software Engineer. This role focuses on system software development for embedded devices and electronic warfare systems. The Software Engineer will lead significant features, integrations, and technical problem solving across the software development life cycle, working closely with systems engineering, software peers, and program leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong system software experience, sound technical judgment, and the ability to influence technical direction for features or subsystems in support of complex development programs. The role involves developing software for embedded devices and systems from requirements through production and support, leading significant software features, integrations, and technical execution activities across the development life cycle. Collaboration with cross-functional team members to develop operational performance requirements, interface software and hardware components, and collaborate on system design is key. The position supports and participates in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and formal testing. Responsibilities include contributing to software test plans, procedures, and other relevant technical documentation, participating in peer reviews, and identifying, tracking, and repairing defects. The engineer will collaborate with a cross-functional engineering team and help define technical direction for features or subsystems, utilizing a variety of software languages and tools on Windows, Linux, and embedded real-time operating systems. Support for software bids and proposal inputs in response to customer requests and government requests for proposal is also part of the role. Travel is minimal.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Advanced proficiency with C++.
Experience working with Department of Defense programs.
Experience with object-oriented software development using C++.
Experience with embedded real-time software development in Linux.
Experience with high-performance and multi-threaded programming.
Demonstrated depth of knowledge in programming languages, compilers, and application execution.
Ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines and contribute to complex technical efforts.
Experience with hands-on software development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.
Experience in embedded systems design.
Working knowledge of signal processing, control systems, electronic warfare, or networking.
Knowledge of protocols such as IP, UDP, TCP, and Protobufs.
Solid presentation and technical writing skills.
