About The Position

As a Senior Software Engineer on Walmart’s US Omni Tech team, you will lead the delivery of high-quality software and ML-enabled features by owning design, development, testing, and CI/CD operations across services, APIs, and UI components. You apply strong technical judgment, integrate AI/ML capabilities, and ensure scalable, secure system architecture. You collaborate across teams to translate complex problems into measurable solutions, drive engineering excellence through continuous improvement, mentor peers, and model integrity, adaptability, and a customer-first mindset to support reliable, innovative, and impactful technology outcomes. About the Team US Omni Tech builds platforms that power one of the world’s largest real estate, energy, IoT, and sustainability ecosystems. Our team connects millions of devices, optimizes building performance, accelerates construction and remodel workflows, and enables next-generation energy and EV charging at scale. What We Build IoT device management platforms for HVAC, lighting, sensors, and energy optimization. Walmart’s Digital Twin ecosystem for simulation and scenario planning. Real Estate planning and construction platforms for efficient store builds and remodels. Nationwide EV charging network platforms for seamless customer experience. Renewable energy management systems for solar, storage, and emerging clean-energy tech.

Requirements

Expertise in cloud-native architecture: microservices, containers, orchestration, automation.
Strong skills in software design patterns, API design, and platform engineering.
Experience with full SDLC, CI/CD, observability, and operational excellence.
Ability to integrate AI/ML components using Python, JavaScript, C++, Java.
Strong debugging, optimization, and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
Effective mentorship and technical leadership.
Deep knowledge of distributed systems, HPC, and fault-tolerant design.
Strong database internals knowledge for SQL/NoSQL tuning and storage design.
Expertise in security-first engineering and threat modeling.
Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, queues) and async processing.
Proficiency with Cloud infrastructure and cloud automation.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Lead full SDLC: design, coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.

Build AI-driven applications with integrated ML components.
Mentor engineers and drive engineering excellence through documentation and standards.
