About The Position

Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our development team at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi. The ideal candidate will be part of a dynamic team developing and maintaining mission-critical applications with a focus on geospatial technologies. This position offers opportunities to work with cutting-edge technologies while solving complex engineering challenges in support of our government clients. The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex software systems, with a particular emphasis on geospatial applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Strong background in object-oriented programming
  • Experience with GIS software development
  • Track record of successful software project delivery
  • Strong proficiency in: Java, Python, C++, or similar programming languages
  • Strong proficiency in: Object-oriented design patterns
  • Strong proficiency in: Software architecture principles
  • Strong proficiency in: Version control systems (Git)
  • Strong proficiency in: Database design and SQL
  • Strong proficiency in: RESTful API design and implementation
  • Demonstrated experience with: Geographic Information Systems (GIS), specifically: Commercial Joint Mapping Toolkit (CJMTK)
  • Demonstrated experience with: ESRI ArcGIS suite of commercial software developer components
  • Demonstrated experience with: ArcGIS Runtime
  • Demonstrated experience with: ArcGIS Engine
  • Demonstrated experience with: ArcGIS extensions including: 3-D Analyst Geostatistical Analyst Network Analyst Spatial Analyst Tracking Analyst
  • Demonstrated experience with: ArcGIS Server
  • Proficiency in: Software testing methodologies
  • Proficiency in: CI/CD practices
  • Proficiency in: Application security principles
  • Proficiency in: Web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Must be able to work on-site at Stennis Space Center, MS
  • Secret security clearance
