About The Position

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Software Engineer – Level 2 or Level 3 to join their team in Aurora, CO. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. This position will be contingent upon capturing program award(s), obtaining and maintaining customer funding, and holding final clearances (if applicable) prior to start date. The role involves designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. This position can be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience (for Level 2).
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience (for Level 3).
  • An additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree may be considered for either level.
  • Requires an active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application.
  • Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph required to start.
  • Experience with software architecture, design, and development.
  • Experience with Agile leadership (product owner and scrum master), planning, and scheduling.
  • Experience with Technical customer engagement and interaction.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Perl and Python desirable.
  • Adjudicated Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly)

Responsibilities

  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Ensures software standards are met.
