Software Engineer
About The Position
We're seeking a Software Engineer to join our Atlanta team. You will be responsible for building and improving our web application that our customers interact with. Sola is a venture-backed startup on a mission to build a trusted insurance brand that redefines how people experience insurance. We design smart, transparent policies with the future in mind. Home insurance is broken. Costs are climbing and legacy systems are holding the industry back. We are building from the ground up using technology to automate risk evaluation, detect structural damage, and eliminate friction. The result is consistent, affordable coverage that delivers when it matters most.
Requirements
- Takes initative and learns quickly
- Attention to detail
- Excel at CSS
- Comfortable with Next.js and Typescript
- Comfortable with Postgresql
- Willing to work hard (50-60hrs/wk)

Responsibilities
- Implement new product designs into our existing web application
- Fill in design gaps with thoughtful decisions around layout, motion, and interaction
- Build transitions, animations, and UI details that are consistent with our branding and feel
- Ensure frontend components are fully functional and integrated with backend APIs
- Develop a strong understanding of our data models, routing, and application flows
- Collaborate closely with engineering team to ship complete features end-to-end
- Ship high quality backend code.
- Maintain and improve our current systems to enhance performance, scalability, and security.
