About The Position

Northeastern Air Quality is a leading provider of services dedicated to improving air quality for residential and commercial clients. Our expertise in environmental consulting, testing, and assessment allows us to develop solutions that promote healthier living and working environments. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to our mission. This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will play a key role in developing the software that powers our data analysis and client solutions. This is a remote role, open to candidates residing in Utah or Tennessee, United States.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#).
• A solid understanding of software development principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with database technologies and cloud platforms is desirable.
• An interest in environmental science or data analysis would be a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable software applications.
• Collaborating with environmental scientists and consultants to translate service requirements into technical specifications.
• Creating tools for data processing, analysis, and visualisation related to air quality metrics.
• Ensuring the performance, quality, and responsiveness of our applications.
• Participating in code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality and share knowledge within the team.
• Troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading existing systems.
• Writing clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation.
