About The Position

For over a century, the Workers' Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California (WCIRB) has been California's trusted, objective provider of actuarially based information and research, advisory pure premium rates and educational services integral to a healthy workers' compensation system. The WCIRB is a California unincorporated, private, nonprofit association comprised of all companies licensed to transact workers' compensation insurance in California. The operations of the WCIRB are funded primarily by membership fees and assessments; no state money is used to fund its operations. The WCIRB is a stable company and a proven leader in the workers’ compensation insurance industry nationwide. The WCIRB performs a number of functions to accurately measure the cost of providing workers' compensation benefits and ensure a healthy workers’ compensation system. Requirements

  • At least two years of paid experience as a software developer.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft .NET Core, ASP.NET, C#, and SQL Server or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience with the use of cloud computing platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) as an integral part of software design and delivery.
  • Familiarity with front-end development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • The successful candidate will reside in California and will work from our headquarters in San Francisco at least 40% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with cross-functional team members, including solution architects, scrum masters, product owners, UX designers, and quality assurance engineers, to develop robust software solutions.
  • Writing code and conducting unit tests to ensure the high quality and functionality of software.
  • Participating actively in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
  • Deploying solutions following DevOps best practices.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging software and application issues promptly.
  • Providing technical support for software developed by oneself and others.
  • Develop and maintain software applications using .NET Core and Azure platform.
  • Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following best practices.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system testing of software components.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services into the application architecture.
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Submit code for review to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with established standards.
  • Debug and troubleshoot application issues, identify bottlenecks, and propose effective solutions.
