Reporting to the Systems, Integration and Test Engineer Lead, the Software Engineer 2 will participate in the software design for automated testing of state-of-the-art, miniature microwave products for government and military applications and will work primarily in LabVIEW to create test routines that will interface with commercial off-the-shelf test equipment to create complex testing routines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required with a minimum of 2 years of experience in software engineering or 2 years post-Secondary/associate’s degree with a minimum of 6 years prior related experience in software engineering.
  • Programming experience in LabVIEW for use in automated testing environments is required.
  • Strong understanding of data acquisition, signal processing, and hardware interfacing with SCPI.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and understand instrumentation principles.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, concepts, testing methodologies, and best practices.
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, hands-on approach suited to a small team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities with sound decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to quality, ESD awareness, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced computer skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, debug, and maintain LabVIEW applications for RF test and measurement automation systems.
  • Create user interfaces, state machines, and modular, scalable code architecture.
  • Create and maintain reusable LabVIEW libraries, instrument drivers and UI components.
  • Plan and execute software verification and validation procedures to ensure reliability and repeatability.
  • Integrate LabVIEW applications with external systems such as databases, serial devices, LXI, GPIB.
  • Collaborate with digital design engineers to define acceptance criteria and implement custom device control in automation applications.
  • Provide technical support for deployed test systems and trouble-shoot issues as they arise.
  • Maintain version control and follow software development best practices.
