About The Position

NKI is experiencing rapid growth and is looking for a full-time Software Engineer to join their team. The Software Engineer will aid in the development of next-generation tools and systems. This role involves developing web-based applications that integrate with custom embedded systems, utilizing generative AI and AI-assisted coding tools to design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions. This is a San Diego-based, 100% onsite, full-time position with a 9/80 schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field of study
• 2+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering
• Exposure using AI to write code
• Python
• C# or Rust
• JavaScript/TypeScript
• HTML / CSS
• Networking Basics (TLS / HTTPS)
• Web-based UI development
• Windows / Linux
• U.S. citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement AI-assisted software applications
• Writing of requirements, specifications, and test documents
• Execution of tests and documentation of completed testing
• Interface with customers to develop requirements and perform design reviews
