About The Position

We are working on some of the hardest problems in enterprise automation, with an engineering team that includes staff-level talent from Robinhood, Glean, Google, Netflix, and Meta. The system handles high-volume financial data and complex accounting workflows, and every execution has to be accurate and reliable, because the output is a company's books. As a Software Engineer at Maxima, you will build and improve core parts of the product, with a primary focus on either backend or frontend. Either way, you will ship features end to end with other engineers, product managers, and customers, and see your work in the hands of finance teams. We value engineers who take ownership, care about correctness and reliability, and like real-world problems with real consequences.

Requirements

2 or more years building product at high-growth companies
Familiarity with web development, relational databases, and distributed systems
Experience with TypeScript, React, Redux, or similar frameworks

Nice To Haves

Experience with data pipelines, mission-critical systems such as fintech, or complex workflow engines

Responsibilities

Backend focus: build the systems that handle high-volume financial data, accounting workflows, and the infrastructure behind our agentic AI platform
Frontend focus: build intuitive, reliable user experiences for complex enterprise workflows, working closely with product and design
Ship features end to end with other engineers, product managers, and customers
