About The Position

We are seeking application development support for high-quality interactive, mobile, video, web, and audio products that concisely convey complex topics to a variety of executive customers. The role supports frontend and backend development for applications and services that improve producer experience and facilitate the production of complex visual products. The engineer designs datasets and data objects for JSON-based interactive and mobile production, web applications, and websites. The role also develops, maintains, and upgrades in-house tools, cloud-based servers, applications and services, project boilerplates, and web application packaging tools in an AWS environment. The engineer contributes to process documentation, software testing and validation, programming, and technical documentation; maintains and improves existing software; and builds web-based interactive, web, and mobile products as needed. This position requires U.S. citizenship and an existing active Top Secret SCI clearance with polygraph.

Demonstrated frontend and backend application development support for applications and services used to improve producer experience.
Demonstrated frontend and backend application development support for applications and services used to facilitate production of complex visual products.
Demonstrated experience with version control software, including Git and GitHub.
Demonstrated presentational development experience with HTML5/CSS3, Hugo or other static site generators, and SASS.
Demonstrated functional development experience with JavaScript, Angular, Vue, React, and Node.js.
Demonstrated experience with any combination of TypeScript, Webpack, Lerna, or Electron.
Demonstrated cloud-based infrastructure development and automation experience, including AWS, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CloudWatch, AWS S3, and AWS ELB.
Demonstrated experience with at least one of Express.js, Koa.js, or NGINX.
Demonstrated experience with at least one of RDS, MySQL, or DynamoDB.

Nice To Haves

Experience with cloud-based infrastructure development, auditing, and automation using DynamoDB, ECS, Elasticsearch, or Kibana.
Experience with Jenkins or other related automation services.
Experience with Oracle.
Experience supporting system security documentation.
Experience with mobile mapping capabilities and charting.
Experience with Fastify.

Responsibilities

Design datasets and data objects suitable for JSON-based interactive and mobile production, web applications, and websites.
Develop, maintain, and upgrade in-house tools, cloud-based servers, cloud-based applications and services, project boilerplates, and web application packaging tools in an AWS environment.
Advise and assist the project team in developing process documentation for individual tasks, knowledge sharing, and development workflows.
Use AWS CodeDeploy, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, ELB, EC2, IAM, Lambda, and Jenkins to build, host, and monitor applications.
Use Node.js, Express.js, Koa.js, NGINX, Lerna, Probot, GitHub, Git, Angular, JavaScript, Vue, React, CSS, and HTML to build and maintain application servers and applications.
Use RDS, Oracle RDS, MySQL, and DynamoDB to support current applications.
Develop and participate in software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
Maintain and modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance.
Review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improving current techniques.
Store, retrieve, and manipulate data to analyze system capabilities or requirements.
Build web-based interactive, web, and mobile products as needed.
Provide data transfer support to team members as needed.
