About The Position

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Software Engineer. This is a Full-Time Contract position with a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of contract to hire. The role is located in Melbourne, FL 32904. As a Software Engineer, you will lead a new mission area, providing technical leadership across software and infrastructure teams. You will provide subject matter expert support for customer API user groups, resolving customer issues, and apply change management experience, navigating customer requests against contract scope. The role involves deploying and maintaining applications in AWS, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-effective, and integrating cloud-native services, databases, and application components across distributed environments. You will apply software engineering best practices across the full development lifecycle, including code reviews (JASON, Python, Bash), automated testing, version control, and CI/CD pipelines. Collaboration with system engineers, cloud engineers, cyber teams, and mission stakeholders is key to defining requirements and delivering end-to-end solutions. Daily interaction with customers is expected to understand operational needs, gather feedback, and refine application functionality. Responsibilities include preparing architectural designs, implementation plans, and technical roadmaps, as well as producing and maintaining technical documentation and delivering professional presentations and technical briefings. The role requires supporting a variety of mission areas and adapting to evolving priorities in a dynamic operational environment. Experience transitioning research or prototype capabilities into operational software tools, supporting classified DoD mission environments is strongly preferred, as is experience with AI-assisted development tools. The position is open to field assignments and requires a Security+ Certification or any DoD IAT Level II Certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of accepting the position. This position requires an Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.

Requirements

Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience developing AI/ML-enabled mission applications, analytical tools, or decision-support capabilities involving advanced data processing, automation, visualization, and user interaction.
Familiarity with Agile development and process, creating stories to task team for resolution.
Strong experience developing and deploying applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Proficiency with modern front-end technologies such as React, Angular, Vue, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
Experience developing back-end services and APIs using languages/frameworks such as Java, Python, Node.js, .NET, or similar.
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes K-8.
Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and application integration patterns.
Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, DynamoDB, or other relational/non-relational data stores.
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevSecOps practices.
Experience with scientific, sensor-derived, geophysical, acoustic, seismic, infrasonic, or other mission-relevant technical data is highly desired.
Experience transitioning research or prototype capabilities into operational software tools, supporting classified DoD mission environments strongly preferred.

Deliver professional presentations and technical briefings to stakeholders, translating complex concepts into clear and actionable information.
Support a variety of mission areas and adapt to evolving priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
Experience transitioning research or prototype capabilities into operational software tools, supporting classified DoD mission environments strongly preferred.
Experience with AI-assisted development tools.
Open to field assignments.
Security+ Certification or any DoD IAT Level II Certification, or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of accepting position.
This Position needs Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
