About The Position

Join a team at the center of a technology transformation within Equipment Finance, supporting and modernizing the applications, APIs, data solutions, and technology platforms that power critical business capabilities. This role suits a well-rounded technologist who enjoys software development and working across data, integrations, application support, troubleshooting, and business-facing problem solving. This is not a traditional role focused primarily on writing new code. Work varies according to business and technology priorities and includes enhancing existing applications, supporting production systems, working across APIs and data integrations, troubleshooting technical issues, and solving problems across a diverse technology environment. The successful candidate brings a blend of development and data experience, curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies and business domains. The role involves working through ambiguity, collaborating with technology and business partners, and contributing across the full lifecycle of supported solutions.

Requirements

Associate's degree and at least 3 years of systems analysis and/or application development work experience, or bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of such experience; in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 5 years of education and/or relevant work experience, including at least 1 year of systems analysis and/or application development work experience.
Professional proficiency in at least one relevant programming language.
Experience developing and supporting web-based applications and services.
Experience with Microsoft technologies, including .NET.
Experience with SQL Server, SQL development, and relational databases.
Experience building, consuming, supporting, or troubleshooting APIs and system integrations.
Experience with data modeling, database design, data acquisition, and data movement solutions.
Experience supporting applications in production environments, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
Experience using source control and code management tools such as GitHub and/or Azure DevOps.
Understanding of software development best practices, including code reviews, version control, unit testing, and controlled software delivery.
Ability to analyze technical and business requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
Ability to investigate unfamiliar technologies, existing code, and complex technical problems.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

Work within the approved Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to solve business needs and minimize risk to the Bank through clean, resilient code, with guidance as needed.
Design, develop, test, and support applications, APIs, and data solutions that enable business capabilities and operational efficiency.
Work across custom applications, APIs, databases, data integrations, and third-party technology platforms.
Balance development and enhancement work with production support, troubleshooting, integration, and ongoing application support.
Investigate and solve technical problems across existing systems and applications, including unfamiliar code and technologies.
Provide feedback on team members' pull requests and participate in code reviews by presenting code and offering constructive feedback on quality, maintainability, and performance.
Write organized, clean, efficient, and secure source code in one or more programming languages.
Use source control management tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps to organize, maintain, and deploy code.
Assist with designing and implementing data models, data acquisition processes, and data movement solutions.
Jointly analyze technical and business requirements with senior team members for completeness, accuracy, and feasibility to support accurate work scoping.
Collaborate across development, data, and business teams to document and communicate technical implementation details clearly and concisely.
Support testing, troubleshooting, and resolution of application and data-related issues.
Continuously learn and apply emerging technologies, tools, and engineering best practices.
Adhere to Company risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite, and identify risk-related issues that need escalation to management.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points and applicable issues raised by external regulators.
