Advanced SpaceWestminster, CO
$114,000 - $149,000Hybrid

About The Position

At Advanced Space, we're enabling humanity's return to the Moon and building the technologies that will take us to Mars and beyond. We're looking for a Software Engineer with 5–8 years of experience to develop mission-critical ground and flight software that powers some of the most ambitious space missions in the industry. In this role, you'll design, develop, and maintain software supporting spacecraft operations, mission control systems, and advanced space technologies. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to build reliable, scalable software that supports real missions—from lunar exploration to national security and commercial space programs. We're looking for someone who enjoys solving challenging technical problems, writing high-quality software, mentoring teammates, and building systems that help shape the future of space exploration. This position is open to U.S. Citizens only. Visa sponsorship is not available. An active security clearance is preferred, or the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance is required.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience developing software for spacecraft systems, mission control systems, or other complex engineering applications.
  • Strong experience developing software using C++, Python, or other modern programming languages.
  • Experience contributing to software architecture and translating system requirements into well-designed software solutions.
  • Familiarity with software development best practices, design patterns, version control, and code reuse strategies.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and understanding modern software delivery practices.
  • Familiarity with container technologies such as Kubernetes or Docker.
  • Enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and contributing to complex technical discussions.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and helping elevate software quality across a team.
  • Takes ownership and works with the team to solve challenges.
