The Software Engineer is responsible for building, debugging, testing, deploying, enhancing, maintaining, and documenting planning applications built on the data science stack (Python, R, and SQL) and standard web technologies. The role supports SIOP and other cross-functional projects, including management of company-critical applications such as the Demand Planning Monorepo. The engineer works with business and technical stakeholders to meet customer and system requirements and to develop reliable, well-tested applications. The position combines software development with statistical analysis and business reporting. Responsibilities include analyzing data, identifying patterns, building basic analytical models, writing SQL queries, and developing dashboards, charts, and reports. The engineer collaborates with Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, CI, and IT to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights, while also conducting industry and market research and supporting operational and strategic analyses. The successful candidate writes clean, documented, testable code; uses configuration-driven architecture to separate configuration from execution logic; and participates in code review, testing, and documentation practices. A working understanding of company operations, particularly demand planning, SIOP processes, and manufacturing data flows, is necessary. The role is primarily in an office environment, with rare exposure to a manufacturing environment, and involves extended periods of sitting and computer use.
