About The Position

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to support the Unmanned Maritime Systems Support (UMSS) program. This role includes a Hybrid schedule (averaging 1–2 days onsite per week). Hybrid participation is ideal for team collaboration and program integration; however, fully remote may be considered depending on experience and location outside the local area. UMSS focuses on developing and integrating advanced software for unmanned underwater vehicles, distributed maritime communications, and tactical situational awareness systems. In this role, you’ll contribute to mission‑critical technologies used by Navy operators, helping connect unmanned platforms with command‑and‑control tools through modern C#, TAK‑based, and distributed software architectures. This position is ideal for cleared engineers with strong C# fundamentals and experience in the Tactical Assault Kit (TAK) ecosystem who want to work on meaningful, mission‑driven technology. You’ll collaborate closely with cross‑functional engineering teams, support both lab and fleet testing activities, and help advance next‑generation unmanned maritime capabilities.
