About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking software engineers at all experience levels to join our FAST Labs™ team in Merrimack, New Hampshire. This role is for a technologist passionate about designing, writing, integrating, and testing cutting-edge software for challenging algorithms, platforms, and environments. FAST Labs is the innovative research and development engine within the Electronic Systems Sector, focusing on creating prototypes and proof-of-concept products in a fast-paced environment with minimal process and documentation. We develop advanced capabilities in areas such as advanced electronics, sensors, processing, AI, autonomy, RF, EO/IR, cyber, and microelectronics, collaborating with a broad innovation ecosystem to develop technologies for national defense. Due to the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and secure access to sensitive information, this role requires full-time, on-site performance at a BAE Systems facility.

Requirements

  • Active Secret DoW clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field
  • 6+ years of professional software development (2+ years if earned a Master’s degree in STEM field)
  • Advanced-level experience with Object Oriented design, development practices, and implementation in C++11 (or later)
  • Advanced-level experience developing for and operating in a Linux Environment
  • Knowledge of software architectures, industry best practices, and emerging software technologies
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field
  • Experience developing algorithms in MATLAB or converting MATLAB algorithms to C++
  • Development experience with Python
  • General Purpose Graphical Processing Unit (GPU) OPENCL or CUDA development experience is highly desired
  • Experience in a rapid prototype environment
  • Real-time, embedded, multi-threaded, low latency development and/or Linux application development
  • Experience with DevSecOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), or automated release management
  • Experience with containerization (e.g. Podman/Docker) and developing software in containerized environments
  • Cloud Native Technologies experience (e.g. Kubernetes, Harbor, Helm, etc.)
  • Experience developing applications that cover several of: distributed, multi-threaded, real time, embedded, low latency, DSP, device control, or military systems.
  • RF, Radar, EO/IR, Electronic Warfare, Signal Processing or Software Defined Radio experience.
  • Software reverse engineering, RF or software cyber experience.
  • Embedded Linux experience (Yocto, Buildroot, Petalinux, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Digital Engineering methodologies and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices.
  • Active Top Secret DoW clearance
