About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Software Engineer for a contract position with a Major Financial Institution. This role will lead and support the migration of legacy systems to a new, serverless platform, focusing on pipelines and compliance. The engineer will collaborate with multiple application and platform engineering teams, providing tier 2 support and utilizing technologies such as Terraform, Docker, and AWS services. The position involves managing daily operational tasks while ensuring the platform is optimized and scalable.

Requirements

5-7 years of software engineering experience, with a strong understanding of legacy systems
Proficiency with technologies such as Terraform, Docker, Jenkins, GitHub, Fargate, Lambda, and containers
Strong experience with system migrations and working with pipelines
Familiarity with serverless architectures and cloud-based systems
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with cross-functional teams
Ability to manage daily tasks and provide support while contributing to ongoing platform improvements
Experience with Java and Python
Experience with AWS
Experience with Splunk and New Relic

Responsibilities

Lead and support the migration of legacy systems to a new, serverless platform, with a focus on pipelines and compliance
Collaborate with three application teams and one platform engineering team, working directly with 6 application engineers and 5 platform engineers
Provide tier 2 support for platform-related issues, supporting up to 70 other teams
Utilize technologies such as Terraform, Docker, Jenkins, GitHub, Fargate, and Lambda to optimize systems and ensure scalability
Manage daily operational tasks and assist in the troubleshooting and optimization of the platform
Ensure the platform is as compliant as possible during the transition to new technologies
Act as a primary point of contact for platform support, with strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams
