Software Engineer

Motorola SolutionsAllen, TX

About The Position

The Unified Communications team at Motorola Solutions is seeking an adaptable, high-impact Senior Software Engineer (AI Operations) to spearhead the operational stability, automation, and AI-first transformation of our Mission-Critical Push-To-Talk (MCPTT) carrier deployments. This is an AI Operations++ role sitting at the intersection of complex telecommunications engineering, modern Continuous Delivery (CD), and applied operational AI. In this position, you will own the end-to-end execution of production change controls on live carrier networks, build and integrate advanced CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with emerging technology teams to implement AI-driven troubleshooting tools. If you bring a fast-learning mindset, excel at cross-functional collaboration with external vendors and Tier-1 carriers, and thrive in high-stakes production environments, this role offers an ideal platform to drive real-world impact.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), telecommunications operations, or mission-critical software deployment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Legal indefinite work authorization is required.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), and telecom management tools.
  • Practical proficiency with CI/CD tooling, infrastructure automation, scripting (Python, Bash, etc.), and automated testing frameworks.
  • Demonstrated agility in evaluating and adopting emerging AI technologies, LLM APIs, or intelligent AIOps tools for real-world software workflows.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with experience directly engaging external vendors, Tier-1 carriers, and internal cross-functional teams.

  • Collaborate directly with vendor and customer counterparts to integrate product features in both lab and live production environments.
  • Architect, optimize, and maintain modern CI/CD deployment pipelines to transform manual release procedures into automated, frictionless delivery cycles.
  • Evaluate, adopt, and integrate emerging AI tools (such as automated anomaly detection and intelligent log parsing) directly into the production change pipeline.
  • Develop automated post-deployment test suites to instantly validate MCPTT server health checks and core features.
  • Maintain a continuous learning mindset to rapidly assess new platforms, AI frameworks, and networking technologies to modernize operational toolsets.
  • Partner closely with internal R&D, central AI Engineering, Product Management, and third-party vendors to seamlessly integrate AI-driven enhancements into production workflows.
  • Support carrier partners and end-customers during validation test cycles for newly deployed MCPTT applications.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and pioneer context-aware, AI-assisted workflows that eliminate human error and enhance engineer on-call efficiency.
