About The Position

GDIT is seeking an experienced Software Engineer Full Stack Developer to join our team of building scalable, maintainable and high-performance applications. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing application frontend and/or backend framework and technologies. You will work closely with our development team to build reusable UI components, optimize UI performance and ensure accessibility. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • 15+ years of related experience.
  • Proven experience developing web and client/server applications using Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Strong, practical experience with Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPA.
  • Demonstrated success upgrading legacy Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPA environments to modern versions.
  • Hands-on experience using modern frontend frameworks such as Vue, React, or Angular.
  • Solid background in relational database design and querying (SQL, Oracle).
  • Proficiency with Git-based version control (GitHub, GitLab, etc.).
  • Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Experience working within an Agile development environment.
  • US Citizenship Required.
  • Top Secret SCI + Polygraph Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with Linux- or Windows-based environments and shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
  • Experience with build and CI/CD automation tools such as Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, etc.
  • Experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, Cypress).
  • Exposure to ServiceNow.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized environments.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, implementing, and managing application frontend and/or backend framework and technologies.
  • Work closely with our development team to build reusable UI components, optimize UI performance and ensure accessibility.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate technical activities, including system analysis and oversight of internal technical roadmaps.
  • Define long-term strategic objectives and ensure solutions meet end-user needs.
  • Lead horizontal integration efforts and collaborate across functional teams to ensure aligned delivery of technical solutions and timelines.
  • Work independently on both routine tasks and new initiatives.
  • Research emerging technologies, assess their potential impact, and prepare systems to adapt to upcoming changes.
