About The Position

Zoom Communications, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team. This role involves working closely with product management and cross-functional teams to define product requirements for Command Center and Meeting/Webinar products. The engineer will translate high-level roadmap visions into feasible feature specifications and deliverables, provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members, and establish engineering best practices. The position will focus on designing and developing Zoom's core service Command Center and Meeting Web platform using Java and the Spring Boot framework, leveraging microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, AWS, and NoSQL for a secure and scalable platform. Additionally, the role includes building customer-facing websites with responsive design, driving cloud-based test automation solutions using AWS infrastructure, and building complex metrics solutions for business insights. The engineer will also triage critical customer issues and support customer engagement. Telecommuting work arrangement is permitted, with the position potentially working in various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Communication Engineering, related field, or a foreign degree equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in job offered or related occupation
  • 5 years experience in product development, with a focus on building, deploying, and supporting an enterprise-scale web application in the cloud, including frontend/ backend, API and SDK development using Spring MVC/ Spring Boot frameworks
  • 5 years utilizing Java including IO
  • 5 years utilizing multi-threaded concurrent programming and modern cloud services such as AWS, Azure or GCP
  • 5 years leading and managing large project development in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • 5 years utilizing modern database (SQL and NoSQL) and storage technologies, such as MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB and Elastic Search

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with product management and cross-functional teams to define Command Center and Meeting/Webinar product requirements
  • Translate high-level roadmap vision into feasible feature specifications and deliverables
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development
  • Establish and maintain engineering best practices, processes, and standards to ensure high-quality product development
  • Design and develop Zoom's core service Command Center and Meeting Web platform with Java using the spring boot framework
  • Create a secure and scalable platform utilizing the latest cloud infrastructure technologies (i.e. Microservices Architecture, RESTful APls, AWS, NoSQL)
  • Build customer-facing websites with responsive and adaptive web design principles to facilitate an enriched experience
  • Drive cloud based test automation solutions and deployment strategy to optimize service performance and ensure product stability using AWS infrastructure (i.e. EC2, ECS, ElasticCache, S3)
  • Build complex metrics solutions with data visualization support for actionable business insights
  • Triage critical customer issues and support customer engagement
