About The Position

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer in support of the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center Combatant Command, Command and Control (C2) Division (AFNWC/NCC). This is a full-time position located at Offutt AFB, NE.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must possess and maintain a TS w/SCI eligibility
  • Sec+ CE, or IAM II or DOD 8140 Level II certification
  • Minimum of 15 years relevant experience
  • 5 years supporting the DoD
  • System analysis and development of system specifications
  • Integrate user community requirements, desired capabilities and characteristics to support injection into the requirements/capability’s generation, planning and programming processes and documents
  • Providing technical reviews of design and development specifications of software applications and systems and other engineering artifacts and develop or maintain those artifacts as required in systems engineering process
  • High School Diploma

Responsibilities

  • Review, prepare, and analyze a variety of documentation: Planning, requirements, design, support and test. Also to include source code, configuration files and engineering resolution support.
  • Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
  • Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.
  • Acquiring and licensing software by obtaining required information from vendors; recommending purchases; testing and approving products.
  • Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
  • Perform Software Quality Assurance (SQA) to ensure that developed software meets and complies with defined or standardized quality specifications.
  • Work as a member of an agile software development team. Performing some mix of the below tasks as directed by the government team lead or engineering lead.
  • Elaborate high level feature/function descriptions into detailed technical designs and tasks, in collaboration with users and government lead engineers.
  • Perform coding tasks for features/functions.
  • Perform coding tasks for functional and performance tests for features/functions.
  • Perform peer design and code reviews with other team members.
  • Perform coding/scripting tasks for software build, packaging and deployment.
  • Perform other software engineering and documentation tasks as assigned.
