We are seeking an Entry-Level Software Engineer (0-3 years of experience) to join our Compass engineering team. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer who is eager to learn, adaptable in day-to-day work, and excited to contribute to real-world systems used globally. You will work closely with experienced engineers and receive peer mentorship, hands-on guidance, and exposure to embedded systems, application software, automated testing, and modern development practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of experience, or a strong eagerness to learn about: Linux environments (Ubuntu, Yocto), Scripting (bash, etc.), Python, C / C++, Qt Framework, Java, Go, Git
  • Automated testing and various testing frameworks
  • Networking fundamentals (IPv4, IPv6, TCP/IP, messaging, protocols)
  • Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, etc.)
  • Eager to learn new skills and technologies.
  • Adaptable and flexible with day-to-day priorities.
  • A collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
  • Comfortable taking initiative and engaging in hands-on work.
  • Possesses an innovator's mindset, always looking for ways to enhance user experience.
  • Applicants must have authorization to work in the U.S. now and in the future without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software for the Compass product line
  • Work on Linux-based systems and embedded platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA and field support
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
  • Participate in code reviews, team discussions, and agile development activities
  • Learn new technologies and tools as part of your regular workflow
  • Roll up your sleeves to troubleshoot issues, improve existing systems, and support product enhancements
