About The Position

A client of Staffed4U is seeking a motivated Software Engineer Level 0 to support mission-critical software engineering efforts in Annapolis Junction, MD. The ideal candidate will have hands-on Java development experience and a strong foundation in software engineering principles, development processes, and problem-solving within a technical environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career software engineer who is ready to contribute to meaningful projects, collaborate with experienced technical teams, and continue growing within a cleared software engineering environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. OR Four years of software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Hands-on Java development experience outside of academic coursework is required.
  • Understanding of software engineering concepts, coding standards, and debugging practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented technical environment.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Active clearance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting federal, defense, or intelligence community customers.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience with version control tools and collaborative development environments.
  • Exposure to software testing, integration, and deployment processes.
  • Interest in growing within a cleared software engineering career path.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using Java.
  • Support software engineering activities across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, design discussions, coding, debugging, and testing.
  • Work collaboratively with software engineers, systems engineers, and technical leadership.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving software defects and performance issues.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and software process improvement efforts.
  • Follow established software development standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Support integration and testing activities in secure technical environments.
