Software Engineer

Corridian•Boston, MA

About The Position

We’re looking for a Software Engineer who loves building and wants to put real hardware in the ocean. If you get excited about writing the code that drives autonomous systems, integrating software with real-world hardware, and solving challenges unique to the subsea domain, this is your role.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years building real-world robotic software systems
  • Proficiency in programming in C++
  • Familiarity with networking, middleware, and low-level hardware/software integration
  • Comfort working with a small team and wearing many hats
  • Strong problem-solving drive: when something breaks, you dive in and fix it
  • U.S. citizen; eligible for DoD security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with maritime robotics, AUVs, ROVs, or other robotic platforms
  • Background in autonomy, control theory, and/or sensor fusion
  • Familiarity with acoustic communications, computer vision, or machine learning in constrained environments
  • Experience testing in the field with real hardware
  • Active DoD Secret clearance

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain control and autonomy software for maritime vehicles and systems
  • Collaborate tightly with a small, cross-functional team (mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers)
  • Implement algorithms for navigation, control, perception, and mission execution
  • Test software on simulators, hardware-in-the-loop simulators, in tanks, and in sea trials
  • Own your work end-to-end: design, build, test, deploy, debug, repeat
  • Push the limits of what’s possible in subsea autonomy and robotics software
