Requirements

• 1–4 years of backend software engineering experience
• Strong Python backend development experience
• Solid PostgreSQL / relational database experience
• Early-stage startup or fast-paced product environment experience
• Strong CS fundamentals
• Comfortable working on backend-heavy product systems
• High ownership mindset
• Strong collaborative attitude

Nice To Haves

• Healthtech startup experience
• Experience with Node.js
• Data pipeline / ETL tooling experience (dbt, Dagster, Airflow, etc.)
• Experience working with healthcare integrations or data workflows
• Experience building internal platform/data infrastructure
• Startup product engineering experience
• Computer Science degree from reputable university
• Experience at strong NYC startups
• Clear backend ownership examples
• Strong SQL / database optimization experience
• Evidence of fast growth and increasing ownership
• Mission alignment with healthcare access

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend systems using Python and Node.js
• Architect scalable PostgreSQL schemas and optimize complex queries
• Build and maintain healthcare data pipelines and ETL workflows
• Develop integrations with healthcare data sources and external systems
• Support platform scaling initiatives as user growth accelerates
• Contribute to backend architecture and technical decision-making
• Build systems supporting AI-powered healthcare communication workflows
• Collaborate closely with senior engineers on core infrastructure projects
• Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability
• Help drive product innovation across backend and data systems
