About The Position

SMBC Capital Markets is a derivatives trading company established in 1988 and based in New York City, with offices in London and Hong Kong. SMBC CM is an established derivatives dealer with a broad product portfolio, with specific emphasis on interest rates and foreign exchange. The candidate will build and maintain a variety of software applications, tools, or functions to support our business. The role will interact with the larger development team, share design and solutions, and contribute to the overall objectives of the development team.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of experience in a large & complex application development environment involving complicated data schemas
  • Professional experience with C/C++
  • Proven experience in OOD/OOP
  • Strong SQL knowledge
  • Experience in application designs for complicated process flows
  • Experience in analyzing and designing complicated Data/Object Relations
  • Experience in source control tools and scheduling tools
  • Must be a good team player and can work cooperatively or independently
  • Quick learner and problem solver
  • 5 years in financial industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Interest Rate Swap industry is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a variety of software applications, tools, or functions to support our business.
  • Interact with the larger development team, share design and solutions, and contribute to the overall objectives of the development team.
  • Enhance post trade processing functions such as trade payment calculation, payment processing and trade regulatory reporting.
  • Be involved in projects to migrate legacy systems into new platforms.
  • Take responsibilities to lead the project/application design and to oversee project development.
  • Support the trading system, including providing answers to users’ enquiries or resolving batch job issues.
  • Follow SMBC CM development standards and contribute to the overall agenda of the team.
