About The Position

At Regions, the Software Engineer oversees application development, modification, and maintenance of applications. This position monitors system applications, ensures systems run smoothly, and creates reports and other documentation outlining findings/solutions. This position sits within Regions' Technology department. This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. We are seeking a .NET Full Stack Developer with experience developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise applications. The ideal candidate has experience working with both legacy .NET Framework and modern .NET Core applications and enjoys building scalable solutions while collaborating with cross functional teams. This role requires strong software development skills, troubleshooting abilities, and a willingness to learn modern application technologies and cloud native development practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • Three (3) years of experience
  • Ability to collaborate with programmers, developers, and other technology professionals to achieve a common objective
  • Ability to conduct system analysis to detect issues with performance
  • Ability to develop and implement technology solutions to resolve technical challenges
  • Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidance

  • Knowledge of software testing techniques, code optimization and software debugging

  • Experience modernizing legacy applications including ASP.NET Web Forms, MVC, and Web API into scalable .NET Core solutions
  • Strong expertise in C#, ASP.NET Web Forms, ASP.NET MVC, Web API, and REST API design
  • Understanding of enterprise application architecture, including layered design, service-based patterns, and scalable system design
  • Hands on experience designing and deploying cloud native applications using OpenShift
  • Knowledge of containerization using Docker and CI CD pipelines
  • SQL Server development skills including performance tuning, indexing strategies, and complex stored procedures
  • Experience with SSRS and SSIS in enterprise reporting and data integration
  • Front end development using ReactJS including migration from legacy UI frameworks
  • Experience with Entity Framework and Entity Framework Core
  • Experience with Git and GitHub Actions
  • Experience in application monitoring, logging, diagnostics, and issue resolution
  • Experience working in Agile and Scrum teams
  • Solid understanding of application architecture and distributed system design
  • Understanding of cloud native patterns and scalable deployment strategies
  • Strong knowledge of software design principles and enterprise integration patterns
  • Experience writing clean, maintainable, and testable code
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Hands on experience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI assisted development tools
  • Strong awareness of latest trends in AI and their application in software development

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the development and installation of new hardware and software
  • Installs and configures systems and other software
  • Tests installed software for malfunction detection
  • Identifies and resolves business systems issues
  • Designs and deploys new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operation systems
  • Measures effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems
  • Develops and implements strategies to improve systems
  • Monitors and tests system performance
  • Performs work with some independence of thought, but refers more complex problems to senior associates or supervisor/manager
  • Ensures compliance with risk management programs, rules and regulations, and cybersecurity practices; identifies opportunities for and supports process improvements; applies disciplined change management practices
  • Support and enhance legacy systems while driving strategic modernization efforts
  • Provide ongoing production support including incident response, root cause analysis, defect resolution, and performance stabilization
  • Participate in on call support rotation as assigned to ensure system reliability and uptime
  • Assist with application and database performance improvements through detailed analysis and tuning
  • Participate on code reviews and provide technical mentorship across the team
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and DevOps to align solutions with business goals
