About The Position

This role involves researching, designing, and developing computer and network software or specialized utility programs for a multinational computational software company. The engineer will analyze user needs and software requirements, applying principles of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to develop software solutions. This includes utilizing graduate-level research and analysis skills to modify existing systems, analyzing current data processing for limitations and capabilities, and conferring with other professionals to design subsystems and understand project constraints. The role also involves consulting with customers, coordinating software installations, and designing/modifying software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models. Developing and directing software system testing, programming, and documentation, as well as modifying existing software for error correction, porting to new hardware, or upgrading interfaces, are key responsibilities. The engineer will also prepare reports, store/retrieve/manipulate data, and collaborate with other technical personnel. Specific technical tasks include developing C++ code, improving algorithm performance, investigating customer issues, working with other teams for integration, writing test cases, and performing code reviews.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related field.
  • Utilize C++ to debug and resolve issues, refactor and optimize code, and enhance and develop new features.
  • Scripting with python
  • Data structure and algorithm, including STL, sort, backtracking, or Dynamic Programming (DP)
  • Fundamental AI and Machine Learning knowledge
  • Working within an Agile development methodology

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs.
  • Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
  • Utilize graduate-level research and analysis skills to analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan modification of existing systems.
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Analyze current data processing to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for improvements.
  • Confer with engineers, programmers, and others to design subsystems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
  • Consult with customers or other departments on project proposals or technical issues such as software system design or maintenance.
  • Coordinate installation of software systems.
  • Design, develop, and modify software systems by using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
  • Develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, port to new hardware, or upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
  • Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status.
  • Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
  • Work with other programmers, designers, technologists, technicians, or other engineering or scientific personnel.
  • Develop C++ code.
  • Improve the performance of the algorithms.
  • Investigate customer issues.
  • Work with other teams to improve the integration.
  • Write test cases.
  • Perform code reviews and discuss issues within the team.
