About The Position

Red Hat is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team. This is a telecommuting role to be performed anywhere in the U.S. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, operating, maintaining, and using public cloud systems in AWS, GCP, and Alibaba Cloud for the use of product development teams. They will also develop service control policies to maintain restrict purchasing of exotic instances utilizing pandas, boto3, and Cost Explorer.

Requirements

Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber-Physical Systems or related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or related role OR Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber-Physical Systems or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related role.
One (1) year of experience with: OpenShift development; Ansible development, including Ansible Automation Platform; AWS development, including ECS, CloudWatch, and EventBridge; Linux, including RHEL; Jira, including Scrum and Agile development; data processing and visualization, including Numpy, Google Sheet; and Git.

Responsibilities

Develop cloud specific solutions to optimize efficiency, cost, and maturity utilizing boto3 and Google Workspace.
Implement tagging strategies and policies to allocate cloud costs to specific business units, projects, or teams.
Develop and maintain reporting pulling financial data from cloud stack to provide financial models to forecast spending based on current usage in AWS, using boto3 and Google Workspace.
Establish and enforce cloud governance policies that help control costs while ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.
Facilitate infrastructure to support automation pipelines in the product development teams using Vagrant, Ansible and Amazon Elastic Container Service.
