About The Position

Applied Materials is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and troubleshoot software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices. The role involves working on large-scale, complex software solutions with limited supervision, leading complex software projects, and defining software specifications and test plans for test benches and lab tools. The engineer communicates with internal and external customers to analyze requirements, coordinate project schedules, and resolve software issues. The position contributes to software quality and functionality through code testing, enhancements, documentation, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, including computer science, information management, software/system engineering, cybersecurity, or mathematics.
• 7–10 years of related experience.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Extensive experience with project management and the Applied Materials product development life cycle.
• Leadership skills to lead moderate-sized projects as needed.
• Experience with C++, C#, SECS/GEM, SEMI standards, SEMI manufacturing, hardware, system integration, and EFEM.
