About The Position

HAPO Community Credit Union is seeking an ambitious, self-motivated Software Engineer in Richland, WA, who embodies the company's core commitment to "Be in the Moment" and "Defy Expectations." This role is responsible for all in-house application development and supporting the setup and integration of third-party solutions. The position owns the full solution lifecycle, including design, development, unit testing, and documentation, utilizing Agile development methodology. A broad understanding of credit union operations, products, and their integration with information systems is required, along with a solid grasp of software and hardware system interactions for reliable and secure operations. The position may be filled at levels I, II, or III, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Requirements

  • Understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • Solid understanding of Windows Architecture
  • Developed in at least two OOP languages
  • Understanding of database systems, including administration, communication and query language
  • Willingness to learn new programming languages and environments
  • Understanding of Agile Programming Methodology
  • Understand of source control
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate
  • 4 year degree from college or university, with concentration in Computer Science or another closely related field or equivalent work experience

  • Broad understanding of credit union operations and products, as well as how those products integrate with HAPO’s information systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test and document solutions.
  • Document all systems, setups, functions and procedures.
  • Responsible for all in-house application development.
  • Support the setup and integration of third-party solutions.
  • Owns the full solution lifecycle, including design, development, unit testing, and documentation.
  • Actively follow and support Agile best practices.
