Software Engineer 3

Wyetech•Fort Meade, MD

About The Position

Wyetech is seeking an experienced Senior Dataflow Software Engineer (Software Engineer Level 3 – SWE3) to design, develop, and optimize scalable data-processing solutions for mission-critical analytical operations. The role focuses on dataflow architecture, data transport mechanisms, Apache Spark-based distributed processing, and efficient data ingress and egress pathways. The engineer collaborates with data engineers, system engineers, and mission stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-performance data solutions. The Software Engineer designs, develops, tests, deploys, documents, maintains, and enhances complex software systems based on documented requirements. Systems may include processing-intensive analytics, large-scale data repositories, real-time applications, data transport services, and distributed computing solutions. The engineer applies software engineering methodologies, configuration management practices, and system integration principles while supporting software quality, performance optimization, and technical leadership. Candidates must meet one of these education and experience combinations: a master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus five years of Software Engineering experience; a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus seven years of Software Engineering experience; or nine years of Software Engineering experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. Relevant experience must include software design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance in comparable technical environments. Clearance and polygraph requirements must be confirmed for this specific opening. The listed hourly pay range is $98.47–$133.35. The rate is a general guideline, not a compensation guarantee, and may vary based on government contract rates, education, relevant experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Hourly rates reflect pre-benefit gross wages. Wyetech describes its culture as focused on breaking technological barriers and solving real-world problems for federal government customers.
