This is a Day 1 opportunity…Solen is building this from the ground up and it will continue to scale for decades. This is an entry-level role with real responsibility. You will learn modern development practices while supporting code reviews, prototyping, and process improvements. You will ship code using AI that matters for real customers, across real businesses while developing your craft in a high-growth, high-learning environment.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of software development experience (professional, academic, or personal projects welcome).
  • Basic proficiency in at least one language: Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with Git, Agile basics, and any cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Strong communicator with experience collaborating across global teams and diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, eagerness to learn, and collaborative team-player attitude.
  • You are curious, scrappy, and motivated to learn fast.
  • You enjoy the challenge of jumping into unfamiliar codebases, understanding how things work, and making them better.
  • You have shipped real software—whether for school, open-source, side projects, or professional work—and you are excited by the opportunity to work across multiple tech stacks, domains, and business problems.
  • You believe AI tools are a force multiplier for developers, and you have already experimented with tools like Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar platforms to write, debug, or refactor code.
  • You want to get better at software development in an environment that values speed, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to DevOps tools such as Docker, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
  • Hands-on work with one or more of the following: Angular, TypeScript, React, .NET, C#, JavaScript, AWS, or Azure.
  • Participation in hackathons, open-source contributions, or university capstone projects.

Responsibilities

  • Write quality code leveraging AI to develop shared libraries, tools, and prototypes under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Participate in code reviews, bug fixes, and refactoring efforts for CoE deliverables across Solen portfolio companies.
  • Implement features and functionality using approved stacks including C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, and others as needed.
  • Attend workshops, contribute to internal tech talks, and help build documentation that raises the bar for the entire CoE.
  • Assist in creating reusable assets such as templates, CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and shared components that accelerate delivery.
  • Work closely with the CoE team to meet service-level agreements (SLAs) for requests from Solen portfolio companies.
  • Track and manage tasks in Jira or GitHub, report progress in daily standups, and stay aligned with team priorities.
  • Support governance by following coding standards, security protocols, and compliance requirements across all work.

Benefits

  • Exposure to enterprise software projects across multiple vertical market software companies.
  • Meaningful career growth in a scaling tech hub in Utah, with clear pathways to mid-level and senior engineering roles.
  • A team environment that values learning, experimentation, and doing hard, important work that compounds over time.
