About The Position

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Level 4 Software Engineer to support the Resilient Missile Warning and Missile Tracking (RMWT) Epoch 2 V2 program in Boulder, CO. This role involves developing solutions for OPIR sensor-data-stream processing to enable missile-warning capabilities for the Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) constellation. The position is contingent upon program award expected in November 2026. This is a MID-SR CAREER (level 4) ROLE where candidates typically require 5+ years of professional experience and a BS degree. Requirements

  • At least five years of professional software development experience.
  • Proven ability to work in high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams while maintaining a focus on system quality and timely delivery.
  • 5+ years of experience coding software with proficiency in at least one of the following: Java, C#, or C++.
  • Professional experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with containerization tools (e.g., Docker).
  • Understanding of how applications are deployed and orchestrated (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Excellence in written and verbal communication, specifically in producing high-quality technical documentation and providing constructive, actionable feedback during peer code reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and test the Mission Processing codebase.
  • Adapt and extend existing frameworks for new sensor interfaces.
  • Create and document robust APIs, and build mission-processing applications that meet stringent performance, latency, and reliability requirements.
  • Write and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests.
  • Troubleshoot issues across the software stack.
  • Collaborate closely with systems, hardware, algorithm, and mission-operations teams to deliver high-quality features on schedule.
