About The Position

We are seeking a Software Engineer with experience across React.js/ TypeScript/ JavaScript/Node.js to support Supply Chain services and warehouse management systems. In this role, you will participate in the design, architecture, and implementation of software solutions that solve complex business problems and improve operational efficiency across supply chain operations. As a Software Development Engineer, you will contribute to building scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems that support critical business processes. Your work will help enable the development and deployment of modern supply chain platforms used to manage logistics, warehouse operations, and distributed systems across cloud environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions while ensuring maintainability, scalability, and strong system architecture.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional front-end engineering experience building production web applications
  • Recent, hands-on experience with Web UI development in JavaScript (React, Redux, Node.js, TypeScript)
  • Recent experience with RESTful APIs (Java, Golang, Python)
  • Test automation experience across the pyramid — unit and integration testing, plus end-to-end/regression automation using tools such as Playwright
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern infrastructure tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
  • Familiarity with observability and ops tooling — New Relic, Splunk, CloudWatch
  • Solid foundation in front-end architecture, component design, and design patterns
  • Understanding of web performance and accessibility best practices
  • Comfort working in an AI-first development environment — using tools like Claude Code as part of daily engineering work
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical audiences
  • A passion for clean code, operational excellence, and customer impact

Responsibilities

  • Deliver front-end features end-to-end — design, implementation, and support — with occasional backend development in Java
  • Build reusable components for future use across Checkout and Wishlist experiences, and contribute to shared components used elsewhere on the Nordstrom website
  • Translate written requirements, designs, and wireframes into high-quality, production-ready code
  • Collaborate with diverse, cross-functional teams, including partner squads outside the immediate team
