About The Position

PayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer in Scottsdale, AZ. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the payment’s domain daily, driving key initiatives and KPIs. The engineer will manage critical incidents in collaboration with domain owners, external partners, and vendors, and conduct in-depth analysis of bugs to deliver swift resolutions for customer issues. The role involves challenging the status quo and introducing innovative software solutions to enhance operational efficiency. Responsibilities include developing efficient, clean, reusable, and high-quality software code without unnecessary complications or abstraction. The engineer must manage workload and other assignments efficiently, resolve time-critical situations reliably and professionally, and take ownership of assigned components. Presenting issues and solutions to audiences of varying sizes is also a key part of the role. Partial telecommuting is permitted from a commutable distance.

Requirements

Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Python/Java programming (2 years)
External processing partner Engineering and incident management experience (2 years)
SQL – Oracle or Big Query (2 years)
Transactions processing and transaction remediations (2 years)
Batch processing and scheduler development and monitoring using Python (2 years)
Kafka, Elastic search or equivalent audit log investigation and analytical experience (2 years)
Triage and incident resolution experience on environments processing high transactional volume (2 years)
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
