About The Position

This role involves executing creative software solutions, encompassing design, development, and technical troubleshooting. The engineer will need to think beyond conventional approaches to build solutions and break down complex technical problems. Key responsibilities include developing secure, high-quality production code, and reviewing and debugging code written by others. The position also focuses on identifying opportunities to automate the remediation of recurring issues to enhance the operational stability of software applications and systems. Furthermore, the engineer will lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for integration into existing systems and information architecture. A significant aspect of the role is leading communities of practice within Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, Systems Engineer, Technical Associate, or related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, Systems Engineer, Technical Associate, or related occupation.
  • Experience working with product owners, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and lead IR solution development.
  • Experience designing of information and data flows for software application development.
  • Experience designing and developing scalable ETL and real-time data pipelines using Python, Scala, Java, Kafka, HBase, Elasticsearch and Spark on AWS and on-premise platforms.
  • Experience managing data storage and analytics by leveraging databases and data warehouses including PostgresSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server.
  • Experience developing enterprise applications and REST APIs with Java, Spring Framework, J2EE and Web Services to support seamless business integration.
  • Experience automating infrastructure deployment and managing cloud resources utilizing Terraform, Docker, Git and Jenkins.
  • Experience deploying and managing applications using AWS services including EMR, EKS/ECS, EC2, S3 and Lambdas.
